The low viscosity brine with corrosion protection for low temperature indirect cooling and the food industry
Antifrogen KF® is a physiologically harmless, colorless, clear liquid used mainly as a low temperature cooling brine. The new brine, based on organic salts, was specially developed for use at low temperatures (-20°C to -50°C) and was launched onto the market at the end of 1997.
Antifrogen KF® is non-flammable and therefore particularly suitable for use as a low temperature transfer medium in indirect cooling, which is important, for example, in the food industry. In addition, Antifrogen KF® does not develop unacceptably high viscosities at the low temperatures required and so enables circulating pumps and pipelines to be economic in design. This product is also an excellent corrosion inhibitor.
Like the familiar Antifrogen L® and KA grades, it is non-toxic and readily biodegradable. Its excellent corrosion-inhibiting effect on many materials, such as iron, non-ferrous metals and aluminium, is retained - even when diluted with water - down to a frost resistance of -20°C (= approximately 50% v/v) and at higher temperatures of up to +80°C. To prevent scaling, only fully deionized water should be used for dilution. Hydrometers or refractometers are recommended to determine frost resistance.. Based on potassium formate and anticorrosion additives Permanent use from -50 to +20 °C (defrosting: +80 °C) Proven for long term applications, even in mixed installations Suitable in use with all standard seal materials Suitable for applications in the food industry Typical applications: Refrigeration systems, deep freezers, ice rinks, etc. |
