Antifrogen L - A glycol based cooling brine for the food industry

A glycol based cooling brine for the food industry; heat transfer medium for solar heating / heat pump systems with corrosion protection;

Antifrogen L - Gýda sanayi için tuzlu su soðutma tabanlýAntifrogen L® is a clear liquid, tinted pale blue, for use as a cooling brine and heat transfer medium in solar heating and heat pump systems as well as in the food industry (such as breweries, dairies, ice cream factories and fish processing factories). Its antifreeze action is provided by the toxicologically harmless 1.2-propylene glycol. Frost resistance is determined by the concentration of Antifrogen L® in the mixture with tap water (which should contain no more than 100 mg/kg chlorides).

Antifrogen L® also contains corrosion inhibitors that provide lasting corrosion protection for all metals and their combinations commonly used in solar heating and refrigerating systems. Official corrosion test certificates confirm these effects. The good corrosion-inhibiting properties of Antifrogen L®/water mixtures decrease - as might be expected - with increasing water content. The ® Antifrogen L concentration should therefore be at least 25% v/v. Such a solution is resistant to freezing down to -10°C.

Aqueous Antifrogen L® solutions do not separate and retain their effectiveness. It is important to check frost resistance with a hydrometer or special antifreeze tester calibrated for 1.2-propylene glycol immediately after the system has been filled and subsequently at approximately annual intervals and whenever the liquid level is topped up.

  • Based on propylene glycol and anti-corrosion additives
  • Permanent use from -25 to +150 °C
  • Proved long term applications even in mixed installations
  • Suitable in use with all standard seal materials
  • Universally applicable
  • Typical applications: Heat pump systems, refrigeration systems in the food industry, fire extinguishing medium, etc.
